with 66,000 miles or DOES IT? Odometer not working 200 1991

Well, as most of you know, I just bought this car yesterday and am quite happy with it... BUT today i noticed that the odometer is not working!

Now, I have all work receipts from the original owner (except for a one year gap during 1997) and the odometer readings and service performed seem to imply that the odometer is reading the correct (or very close to correct) milage. The PO is an older lady and it is not improbable to believe the milage on the car.

The interior of the car is quite clean and no wear on steering wheel pedals, seats, etc.

I ran a carfax on it before buying it but in Florida odometer readings are not recorded!

oh well I guess it is too late now... but I just wanted to know if broken odometers were common in this car and if so... is there any specific point (milage) at which they have been more prone to failure.

Thanks,

Worried new owner
