HARD TO START ONCE HOT AND HIGH IDLE WITH HUNT 700 1989

aFTER REPLACING THE DISTIBUTOR ON MY 89 B230FT WAGON IT WOULD NOT START. teh idle is high 1000 rpms. ok starting when cool but requires excessive cranking and full throtel until it starts to fire, then just let it catch up. i noticed the turbo gauge will not drop untill idle has leavled out. help please
