I have heard the LH 2.4 Jetronic fuel injection, or the ignition, starts dropping off boost when you go over 14.5 psi on the LH 2.4 Jetronic. Installation of a new boost gauge should have no effect. The ignition system on your car has a fine knock detector and should eliminate any problems from detonation.
