Passanger/Driver Seat Rotation ?? 200 1987

I have a 1987 240 wagon, 250k, leather seats. The back of the driver side seat is worn thru on the left edge and cracked at another place. Passenger side seat back is, of course, in great shape. The base of both seats has held up well.

I am considering rotating the driver and passanger seat backs. It looks like I could remove the long pin that the back pivots on, switch the two backs, and reassemble.

Has anyone attempted this? Am I in for a surprise once I get into it?
