low speed chattering/vibrating noise 700 90

Any ideas?

My 740 '90 sedan has a chattering noise lasting from aprox 15mph till 20mph

The transmission has been serviced several times. The garage says I should look for some "loose metal" on the exhaust but so far I haven't found anything.
