Exhaust system stock-2-turbo Part II 200 1986

Considering replacing a leaky stock system with a large diameter system I found in a boneyard on a 1984 242 Ti. Posted a Q and got some good responses, thanks to all.

Went to boneyard today for the system and a pusher fan for wifemobile (1988 244 B230F) and to look at other things. I did not get the exhaust system as there was no way to haul it home. It is a large diameter, no cat and no "front muffler". Thought I might get it using a friend's truck or a trailer, and getting a pipe fabricated to connect it to the existing cat. However there's still a Q in mind: Will the scavenging characteristics of the larger pipe make for worse performance than the stock system?

Saw a post 3 - 5 weeks back regarding this and didn't think to print it off than.

As Always, TIA

Bob

PS Saw a looks-perfect 740 (760?) GLE with B230FT, center exhaust take-off. It had just come in. They still have the 1995 940 B230FT, too.
