is equalizer worth the trouble 700 89

I was at the Carlisle car show today and saw a Volvo equalizer than rests under the stereo. I didn't buy it due to the uncertainty of the value of using it (besides I got a few more important things). I planned to get one in the future if people here feel it is worth it. Please advise from those who have it.

Also I got 26.8 miles per gallon at 70mph. This is the first long trip I have taken since getting the car. This was also will a large engine in the back. Very comfortable all the way.
