Re: Uhhhhh... there are only 3 power locks! 900 1994

When I bought my 940GLE 1991 last year, I used it for a few months without remote keyless entry system. The OEM parts had been removed from the car. In Malaysia, Volvo is the last on the thieves lists. Never heard any Volvo car has been stolen.

Anyway, when I sent the car to have it fitted with alarm system which includes remote keyless entry, the guy that the shop told me that the car's central locking system has three pumps plus the forth on the trunk hood. He told me that i would have to install an aftermarket pump on the driver door's lock (on the iron which sticks up and down on the door trimmer) and connect the wires from that aftermarket pump to the alarm system. So whenever I activate the alarm, the aftermarket pump would lock the driver's door. Since the driver's door in the control centre, all other doors will be locked as well including the trunk. And the reverse happens if I de-activate the alarm.

i think this way is far easier and safer than findling with the central locking mechanism and its wirings.
