Re: HELP! Brake/clutch pedal assembly swap 200 1992

OK, my direct experience is on the 140 and 160 series, but I just looked up the parts fiche and the pedal assemblies look similar.

First, give yourself some room by removing the driver seat. It will require some contortion, but you can reach all the bolts from the driver footspace. You may or may not have to remove some air ducting. After removing all the bolts, possibly the two screws holding the steering column nearest the wheel, and of course the clutch cable and brake actuator, you'll be left with the pedal assembly somewhat movable. It is now held in place mainly by the wiring harnesses running through it. The "proper" way about it is to unplug the wiring harnesses, unthread them from the pedal assembly, and reverse the process for the new assembly. The sane way is to get a hacksaw or (even faster and more fun) angle grinder, open up the pedal assembly, bend it open a bit, remove old box, saw/grind open new box, install, and if you want to do a neat job weld it shut or bolt a few pieces of iron to close it up again.

Good luck,

Bram
