To vent or not to vent: That is the question (rotors) 200 84

I was noticing that the vented front brake rotors on my 84 245 are getting tired. (I can stick a screwdriver into the vents and chip off pieces, very rusty)

I noticed that my 81 240 parts car has non vented rotors and they look to be in good shape. No lip at the top where pads have worn away the metal.

Would there be a problem using these non vented rotors?
