Ignition ecu compatability

Can anyone tell me if a ignition ecu from the same year car (84) is interchangeable, if the numbers don't match? The difference in cars was the donor car was manual trans and possibly 6months newer? My problem is I exchanged the wiring harnesses and I have no spark. While checking the coil with a test light one of the injector leads clicked and gas shot out of the top of the injector. I was very suprised.

This leads me to believe something is seriously amiss. The ignition harness hooks up in all the right places but I think maybe the plug into the ignition ecu is different. The reason I can't look at the other one is because it had been messed with beyond being figured out.

My ecu #137295 donor car 1346105 or if anyone has one like mine can you tell me the wire lineup? Sorry for the long post,thanks for any replys,Ron
