how much does the a/c conversion cost? r12 to new type? 200 85

hey brickboard,

i am thinking about fixing the ac in my wife's wagon. mechanic gave me an expensive estimate for a leaking condensor. i have gathered prices on parts to do job myself. i figured around 165 for condensor, 20 on o-rings, and the 25 on the reciever drier. would it be much more to convert the system to the 134 or whatever they call the new type. if it is reasonable, where do i get the parts to convert?
