Volvo's worst effort. Are newer models any better? 700 1988

I respectfully submit that my 1988 740 Turbo wagon is the worst car Volvo ever built and that I have ever owned. Even Volvo mechanics have admitted to me that the 740 series cars were basically junk. This car has been a nightmare since day one and the reason I haven't sold it is because there are so many new parts on it that I figure eventually things will stop going wrong (the eternal optimist in me). Amazingly, about the only thing that hasn't been replaced yet is original turbo unit. I have come to loathe this thing, and my experience has soured me on Volvo forever. I also have a 1993 BMW 525iT which is far superior to the Volvo in every respect. I can never understand when people mention Volvo and BMW in the same breath. It's no contest.
