960 transmission 900 95

Answering the posting below by Carlos Torres regarding the factory transmission oil cooler kit, made me realize that every single 960 I know about in Puerto Rico has required transmission and radiator changes right around 50k miles. This is not only expensive, but it opens Pandora's box and starts a never ending tale of woes and headaches that will ruin enjoyment of the car. May I suggest you read my reply to Carlos below about ways to be safe rather than sorry. General Patton and wbain may want to know about this perfect record of 960 transmission and radiator failures in Puerto Rico. Problems are bad enough that 960 Volvos cannot be given away here. Only this week, a 1996 960 was listed in the newspaper for $10,000 but I doubt there will be many takers.
