OVERDRIVE SOLENOID BYPASS 200 1984

I want to bypass my overdrive solenoid on my automatic transmission. This is a very trouble prone setup and I want to eliminate all of the eletronic "bugs". I was told that there was an article about converting the 3 speed w/ overdrive into a permanent 4 speed auto by altering the solenoid so that it's always in the engaged position. Can anyone help me find it. I would like to know if anyone out there has done this to their 240's auto and what resulted from it. Any problems?
