Magic rope trick down the hole works! 700 1988

I finally had an opportunity today to use one of the "rope" tricks to help take off the crank bolt.

All I can say is - it worked like a charm! Two seconds and I had the crank bolt off and premptively changed a timing belt (while I had the alternator off the car anyway).

Pretty sure I followed all the procedures and the 740 now has a new timing belt, tensioner and all new belts (no need for the fron seals - all were fine).

My niece can now ride in style to summer camp (she has no idea what timing belt does or where it goes)but if I didn't fix it, I would never get my 240 back.

Thanks to the archives on this one!
