Re: Connecting rods

The trouble is the early B230F(T)'s used skinny conn rods. When detonation hit, lean mixture due to unbalanced fuel injectors or momentary high boost or the cutout switch failed or the wastegate hose broke, the conn rods would break. This was fixed on the later B230FT's used in the 940's. So while still a stout engine, the early B230FT's have problems when pushed too hard (high boost levels). NA cars don't have this problem.
