Unless your state has no-fault insurance, you aren't paying for the inspection anyhow.

The offending car can often be annhilated without causing much damage to the car that it hits.

But still, have the car checked out. The bumper shocks often get compressed, and you can actually have problems outside of the things that you can see. The body shop will know what to look for. Especially if it was a good, sharp hit to the bumper, there can be frame misalignment that you won't necessarily notice.

Open all the car doors at the same time and see if they close right after that.
