Help ME! -Buying new car! 700

Hello and thank you for reading my post. I have a problem. I am buying a new car soon and I have 2 choices A. My mom will sell me her 99 Nissan Altima for $5000 which has 45k miles on it, or B. I can buy a car of my own. I want to get an 89 or 90 Volvo 740 Turbo really bad but my mom doesen't like the idea of me buying a 11 or so year old car. I want to take my time in looking for a 740 with low mielage on it and I need to convince my parents into letting me get a volvo 740. I will have about 7000-8000 to spend on a car.

I am 18 and this will be my 3rd volvo. I bought an 85 240 wagon for my first car and it had 200k miles on it, then I stupidly traded it for another 85 240 wagon with 200k miles on it that looked better than my previous one, it needed tons of work so I sold it, then my parents helped me get another car, an 89 Nissan 240 SX, this car has run good and I take good care of it. It is a fun car and it is real sporty. However it has pretty bad rust underneath it and I am going to sell it. so just to sun things up I am getting a new car and I want a Volvo 740 Turbo more than I want my mom's 99 Nissan Altima, I just need to convince then into letting me get a volvo, what should I tell them?

sorry for the length of this post I just keep going on and on.
