Strange hiss noise from A/C today.. 200 1985

We took a trip to the mall today and the AC was running fine.

The car sat for about an hour and when we were leaving the parking

lot we heard a loud noise coming from the dash area. I had the

blower on high, so I didn't hear the noise very good. I turned down

the fan and I heard the noise again several times on the way home.

I even turned off the AC and it still made the hiss noise a few

more times and then stopped.

It sounds like a hiss or water being sucked through a hose. Upon inspection, I noticed a small amount of water on the passenger side

floor and it was cold water. I quickly removed the console side cover

and I found a bunch of leaves in there. We had to leave again, so I

left the car at home and took my truck. Tomorrow I plan to inspect

everything real good and clean out the drain hose and any remaining

leaves up inside there. Does this sound like just a clogged drain

system making the noise or could it be something more serious?

I just ordered a Bently service manual, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as the car has never done this

since I purchased it new in 1985. I replaced the blower motor many

years ago. It squeals a little now, but it is still working good.

Thanks....!

DeWayne
