Evan,
Yes, you have been around for a very long time. You have given many folks (including myself) invaluable advice and opinions. I honestly appreciate each and everyone of your posts.
With that said (and I mean every bit of it)....your advice, while almost always accurate, is in no way gospel. NOTHING that is said on this board is gospel. We all have different ways of approaching and resolving problems. But, as far as I know, only a small minority of us have a professional background in Volvo repair.
There are also those who cannot or would pefer not to do their own maintenance and repairs. I know a guy who programs mainframes for a living, but he is totally incompetent when it comes to mechanics. His brain just doesn't work that way. I've tried to get him interested in maintaining his cars, but he makes a chore out of even the simplest jobs. Likewise, no matter how hard I tried or how long I practiced, I probably couldn't make a living out of writing computer code. No interest and no ability.
So what if someone doesn't appreciate or agree with your advice? Why take it personally??
Like Jaki said..."It's only the internet!"
