Instrument cluster mishap. What Happened?! 200 79

I just installed an instrument cluster with a tach in my 1979 245. Before finalizing the instalation I ran a wire from the tach to the coil and everything seemed to be fine. I then ran the wire through the firewall and reconected it to the coil, installed all the trim and went to start the car.Now the car won't start. It will backfire a little but won't start. The coil wires seem to be in the position they were in originally with the print on the plug facing up. I only found one vacuumn hose that came loose. The distributer seems to be fine.

I'm spliced into the green coil wire. Is this corect?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I hated running without a tach but at least I was running. I can't think of anything that could have gone wrong.

Thanks

Richard
