What is under the 740 wagon trunk? 700 86

A couple weeks ago I was at the gas station and I broke the hinge to the filler cap. I bought the part at the dealer and went home. I then took the interior panels out of the left side of the trunk and replaced the hindge. When I was putting everything back together I noticed somthing I had not seen before in the bottom left side under the floor panels. It is covered up in a black plastic vented cover thing. Also there were two wires hanging and not connected to anything one was black and the other was green with red stripe. What is behind the black plastic? What other electrical things are under the floor of the trunk that could be disconnected?
