940 with 5-speed in US? 200 1990

Hi.

I used to own a 1978 244DL. I've been driving a pickup since 1987, but it's starting to get a bit old.

I'm ready to go back to a car. Since I enjoyed my experience with my Volvo, I have been considering going back.

I have been seeing some 940's. I guess they were made in the mid-90's or so. I think they are much nicer than the 740's.

But all I've seen are automatics. I have never really learned to drive those, and I hear they are expensive to fix. Besides, I'd rather shift for myself.

Were the 940's ever sold in the US with a stick shift? Or do I have to get a 740?

Thank you,

Morris
