poss. '93 965 purchase 900 93

I know where a 1993 965 is for sale at a dealer (not a Volvo dealer) for $5500. It is in very good visual condition, and allegedly has a new head, timing belt, and suspension bushings. It has about 110,000 miles on it. I haven't had a chance to hear it run or drive it yet. This sounds like a low price for this car, but I am very wary. Are these things worth bothering with? I have heard financial horror stories of people trying to keep 960s running and functioning properly, and I am used to my dead-reliable and 100% trouble-free 245, which is getting very old. If the head is indeed new, I suspect the timing belt broke and destroyed the old head, and that the previous owner or dealer spent thousands having it fixed. What do you 960 owners think? Is this thing a money pit? Should I just stick with four-cylinder Volvos? Any info much appreciated

Colin
