240 wheels;inner tie rod repl 200 91

Q1: I have 4 new tires mounted on early-year 240 rims w/o a hole for the locator pin that I want to put on my 91 240. Can I just remove the locator pin? Should I replace it with a bolt? Or, should I drill a hole in the rims? Q2: I have a CAM steering rack with a bent inner tie rod. I looked in Bentley but can find no instructions for replacing it. After pulling back the dust cover, it looks like there's a ball held in by a white plastic part. Anyone have ideas on how to replace it? Thanks.
