Will 1984 Tail Lights Fit a 1986? 200 1986

Will the tail light lenses from a 1984 240 sedan fit a 1986 240 sedan?

I know that the design was changed somewhere around 1983 to 86-ish, but I'm not sure exactly when. I'm in need of one or two, and my dad scored a pair off an '84 for cheap. But now I'm wondering if they'll fit my '86 (he's in another city, so I can't just go look at them).

Even if they are different, will the old style housing mechanically fit in the '86 tail light sockets? If so, I can do any rewiring necessary to retrofit the older lights. As I recall, the main difference is a lack of rear fog lights, and maybe one less red tail light.

Failing that, anybody wanna trade lenses, '84 for '86? :)

I just don't want to have to pay the $150 for a silly piece of plastic.

If I was at all cinematically inclined, I'd make a parody of that Volkswagon commercial with the shopping cart rolling toward the Golf. My version would feature an SUV with a soccer mom behind the wheel gabing on the cell phone, rolling ominously toward the tail lights of a junky 1986 Volvo 240. The Volvo owner would tackle the SUV and roll it over, separating the tread from the Firestone tires, and thus saving his precious tail lights. Then it'd show him happily driving home with the windows rolled down because the blower fan needs to be replaced.
