Tighten Suspension? 700 1985

What would improve the car's suspension and make it feel tighter(for want of another word.) I've replaced the front struts, new tires, alignment, bushings. I keep hearing about IPD's sway bars, but all I can figure from the talk, is better cornering. My brick is going on 179K; and maybe I can can only make limited improvements. Is anyone in the same boat-or car?
