Re: Frame support rust--weld or rivet 120-130 67

No, I just talked to Duane and asked for a crossmember for an 1800. He's go two..one that is thinner gauge w/ a jack support and one that is thicker w/o the jack pad. The second is the one that you want. The fore/aft frame rail works as well..but I cut mine and used portions of it, rather than redoing all 4 feet of it. The P1800 floor pans do not match, they have diagonal stiffening ribs instead of horizontal....regular 18 gauge sheet metal works fine.

If nothing else, getting these pieces will make your trip to a welding/fabrication shop a lot cheaper if you do not have the wherewithall to do it your self. With the right tools and a lift, this repair shouldn't take more than about 4 hours. I did it in 5 on my back w/ just jackstands...would have loved a lift, but the plasma-cutter sure came in handy. Afterwards...a good 'dressing' with an angle grinder, followed by automotive bodyshop "seam sealer" will make the repair look like it was never repaired.
