Headliner clean/paint/dye 700 1990

Hey,

My new/used 1990 740 GL wagon has a headliner that is a bit

dirty. Probably a bit more than dirty, but nevertheless, is

in pretty good shape. (no sagging etc...) Is it possible to

either clean, paint or stain/dye the thing to get it to look

nice? I'm an artist, and so am not shy about digging in. But I

was hoping for some advice of someone who might have done something like this. Thanks.
