Last Week it was a Rotted Ignition Harness.. 900 1995

Right?

I fixed it up real good.... Even my buddy, the Master Volvo Tech was very impressed with the results.

>>Note: Rafael: He says we should make harnesses.

Anyway, tonight we discovered that my positive battery cable is rotting from the inside out, the Scandinavian Way... just like all the other electrical in this car.

Volvo has established a maximum voltage drop of 0.09vdc, end to end, beyond which, everything gets squirrely.. the ECU turns inside out, etc.

Anyway, voltage drop on the ground side is right at 0.09vdc, cool there. But the positive side is blowing 0.34vdc drop.... four times the "legal limit".

He had me touch the negative battery clamp, it was cool. The I touched the positive clamp and it was HOT! Looked real good... clean and tight and whatnot... but that internal ROT is blocking most of my current, so the voltage drops...

Below 10volts, the ABS trips out and sets a code, thats the Swedish way of suggesting you have a battery problem.

Mr. Bowers, et al..... this will kill your Voltage Regulator too.

Got to eat now, then bed, after my wife gets off tomorrow, I've got quite a project.

Just thought you'd like to know.
