Engine noise, coming from the head. S90-V90 1997

I have Volvo 960, 1997 with 84000 miles on it. Lately, I started to hear a ticking noise coming from the engine’s head. It looks like the more pressure I give to my car going up a hill the louder this noise is. I tried to put different types of oil but it didn't help. I did not do any maintenance since I had 50000 miles on my car, except oil change. Does anybody know if I change the timing belt will it solve the problem? Can I do valve adjustment on this car or any kind of maintenance? Are there any other things that I can do to diagnose and fix this problem?

Thank you in advance to everyone who replies.
