Hard Starting Volvo 200 1988

My daughter's 240 will start like a champ in the morning before school. It sits in the parking lot at school. After school, when she attempts to start it in the afternoon, it is very hard to start. She is usually the last one out of the parking lot. I have replaced the distributor cap, rotor, and plugs. I am now getting ready to replace the fuel filter. Is there some sort of relay that is malfunctioning on the high temp side? Any advice/recommendations deeply appreciated.
