Re: Fuel Pump Problem? 700 1989

Chris: for a LOT of pertinent, concentrated, pre-screened-for-accuracy questions, WITH ANSWERS, go to the top of the 'RWD' page, and look above for the BLUE type which says '700-900 FAQ', and click on it. You will see a screen open up that has 2 columns of categories of diagnostic/troubleshooting info, one of which is 'Fuel Systems', and just above it, 'Electrical: Relays, Fuses, etc.'. Click on either one first, then use your cursor on the upper right-hand scroll bar, to pull yourself through the interrelated topics. A true wealth of information; perhaps not as friendly as the banter back-and-forth on the main RWD/700 site, but a LOT faster, it's all right there at your finger tips: bad wiring, fuel pump problems, etc. And yes, the fuel pressure regulator is a very common problem, it may turn out to be YOUR problem as well. But you will also see a more or less step-by-step approach to troubleshooting, helpful for both DIY-ers, as well as for folks who would like to able to speak intelligently with a mechannic or technician...you feel less ignorant, and sound less likely to be snowed by otherwise over-zealous 'parts-replacing' service shops or dealers. Whatever happens, Good Luck...and keep us posted. We all need to hear the success stories.---PD
