engine knock? 200 90

Greeting board,

Im still trying track down the source of this engine noise. Im stumped.

The noise doesnt appear until after the engine has warmed up a bit. Its a knock(low volume). The car runs strong. It just turned 103,000.

Heres what Ive done, and observed: The noise is most noticeable at idle. The noise matches cadence with the flash of my timing light.

When I put the engine in gear, the noise stops.

When I remove all engine drive belts, the noise does not occur.

I tried isolating the accesories by attaching one belt at a time. No noise.

I reattach all engine belts(using new belts), the noise returns.

All of the mounting bushings are ok.

Ive used a stethoscope to try and isolate the source, but I hear it in many places, on the power steering pump, the bell housing, the water pump,

inside the engine on the top of the cam bearing, at the oil pan, on the tail pipe , on the rear end housing. It is the mother of all noises!

At this time Im in the "drive it til it breaks" mode. I dont know what else to do.

All advice and comments are welcome.
