Strange VIN number on 945T 900 All

Thanks, guys, for your attempts earlier to decipher the VIN number YV1945216N2035664. As some of you noted, this number doesn't coincide with the VIN numbers published for USA.

I have confirmed the wagon is a 2 litre 945 turbo (B200FT is inscribed on the motor and handwritten in the manual).

This wagon has recently been imported from Singapore. While we usually import new and near new vehicles into New Zealand, I'm not sure how this one got here a couple of months back, especially since it's in a yard filled with fairly new BMWs and MBs (plus half a dozen Rolls Royces and Bentleys). It's a '91 model with 171,000 kilometers (106,000 miles). Don't appear to be any records; price is equivalent to US$4,000

I'll have a mechanic check it out including checking the cambelt; the condition is very good, the price is good;

Question: is this a big risk?

Sure appreciate your feedback!

Shalom
