There is a simpler solution 900 ALL

/// Cooper makes a truck cable repair end, for NAPA, with about six inches of number one cable on it. The splice end has a steel or copper coated steel compression joint. All the wires to the battery post clamp are cut stripped and stuffed into the compression joint. Like a water pipe connector the teeth inside the splice joint squeeze the wire concentrically. A 35mm film canister size round box holds grease over the splice.

I have posted this part number before. It is availabel at NAPA stores but not on the website.

The advantage is that additional wiring, transmitters, audio amps, etc, are spliced six inches away from the battery top.
