Pulling a 740 trans for July 4th fun! 700 1989

The 89 740 sedan that I am essentially overhauling has a bad rear main seal leak. Since I really have nothing better to do on the 4th, I am debating removing the trans and doing the seal, plus the rear tailshaft bush and seal. Or at least getting the trans out tomorrow.

I already have the exahust system off and timing belt off to do all three front seals and timing belt. My luck would be to do the front seals and have the rear start pouring out even more oil!!

Question is:

Is the 740 aw70/71 any more difficult to pull than the 240 versions? It's been a year or so since I had an automatic out. That sounds like a confession. Any tips from the veterans?

With the front main exhaust pipe off, it seems real dumb to not go for the rear main seal???
