Idle RPM drop when AC turned on, instead of increase? 700 92

Folks I have been to the archives and faq's, I also read the Bentley's 240 manual, but I can't seem to find the answer to my problem.

On my '88 240 idle rpm reads 750 and increases slightly to 900 when AC turned on (exactly like the Bentley's manual states).

My problem is with the '92 740: same engine b230 nonturbo auto as the 240. Idle speed at 750rpm but decreases to about 650-700rpm when ac turned on and engine shakes a liitle.

Shouldn't the idle rpm increase to about 900rpm with the increased load(ac on) like in the 240. The only difference between these 2 engines is that the '88 240 has LH 2,2 FI system while the '92 740 has the LH2.4 FI system.

Any words of wisdom out there?

Thank you for your input.

John
