Fuel problem 200 1983

Hi, my name is Mike. I have a problem with my 1983 240DL sedan. After changing the rear springs and shocks I had some rear end noises. I bounced the rear up and down for quite awhile until I located the source of the noise, springs were squeaky at the top, I sprayed some WD-40 at the top, rear end noises went away. But now the car runs poorly, rough idle, stalling, no power. Thinking I may have stirred up some crap in the fuel tank I changed the fuel filter and added some techron. It's running better but still not 100% as before, the fuel pump makes a whining noise now. After reviewing some service manuals I have it talks about the pre-pump in the tank. I pulled fuse #4 and it ran really poor. Does anyone have any ideas?

Fuel pump?

Pre-pump?

Tank sock/filter?

Please email any information at dogri@aol.com

Thanks,

Mike
