Base prices of '77 240s 200 1977

Does anyone know the base/starting prices of the 244 and 245 DL models from 1977? I remember my father saying that he bought his '77 Camaro Z28 for $5,700, and that even the most basic Volvos then were considerably more expensive than medium-priced domestic cars.

p.s. For the record, how did the pricing of the '77 240s compare with the '77 Saab 99?
