960 pourouse engine block 900 92

Read article on 92-95 960 blocks that weep oil and coolant has anyone experienced this and is there any fix other than block replacement? I am thinking about buying a 92 960 car is there certain places to look for this leaking condition? I was also shocked to find out that timing belt replacement is 30,000 mi. anyone run longer time change on belt? Thanks Steve
