Re: #1 fuse question. 200 1984

Daniel -

Is your car a 245, a wagon? Does the rear wiper work?IN my 1985 Wiring Diagram Volvo green book, Fuse #1 powers, the Cigar lighter, Cruise Control, Tailgate wiper, Power mirrors, Radio, and Powertrunk release.

If any one of these has a short to ground, the result is what you got.

You know the radio is OK, what of the other items do you have? If yours is a 245, the rear wiper has leads that go through the cargo door hinges. One of the leads is hot with the key in I or II. If that lead is broken, the wiper may continue to work but it will stop anywhere, not in the park position. If the lead is touching the hinge metal, #1 fuse blows.

That is the most likely culprit. The wires may be visible by looking down into the hinge with door closed.

Re-Post. OK?

Good Luck,

Bob
