Could replacing an injector seal lead to total loss of power once the car is warmed up? 200 1981

My old thread disappeared. Thanks to those who replied. I had the injector seal replaced on my 1981 240 DL, after it was replaced the car is driving with less power. More importantly, when we start to drive, and the engine is cold the car shifts through all of the gears, once the car warms up, it does not shift into third and just goes nowhere. The fastest we can go is about 35 MPH. Had another mechanic check the kickdown cable, vacuum, and IAC hoses and he says that they are OK.

Any other ideas? Could the injector seal be defective or misplaced? Would that account for these symptoms? Did my transmission just "happen" to go the day after the car was serviced? Do trannys die with these symptoms?

THANK YOU!

Lany
