Brake Anti Squeal 700 1990

Hello,

I have a feeling this is a very dumb question, but I'm doing my rear brakes, and I'm about to replace the pads. I read a tip over at SwedishBricks.com that said to apply some Permatex Anti-Squeal compound to the back of the pad to help avoid brake squeal.

But I'm not sure if the compound goes between the piston and the shim, or between the shim and the pad! Can somebody advise me on this before I make what I think could be a big mistake?

Thanks,

Jay R.
