Re: Could replacing an injector seal lead to total loss of power once the car is warmed up? 200 1981

/// There are no vac hoses to the transmission. What about the fluid level, fluid color? Have the transmission serviced. You should have the pan dropped and inspect the pick up screen. Failure to shift into higher gears is one of the signs of transmission failure. If the pan is filled with clutch material that would indicate the transmission is gone.

It is possible that material in the pan slowly blocks the screen as the hydraulic pump circulates the ATF. If you remove the debris you might get a few more miles from the transmission even though it turns out to be worn out. The clue here is that it does shift cold, before the screen is blocked. Cross your fingers.

It is possible to knock off a hose or wire when replacing seals etc. This would result in poor engine performance not transmission. Did you replace both seals on the injectors. Did you use either a Volvo kit or high temp o-rings? Look for other vac leaks, dipstick, oil cap, intake gasket, Bottom of the 1 inch flame trap hose. (Crack on the underside, bottom) Did you clean the orifice in the intake manifold barb, from the flame trap?
