code 312 - car cuts out 900 1991

Hi,

I posted awhile about my 940 occasionally cutting out for no reason. No bucking, no sputtering, just driving along fine and it dies then all dash lights come on. It tends to start right back up afterwards.

It throws a 3-1-2 code which is "knock sensor signal from ignition system absent". I'm still trying to figure this one out. Can anyone help narrow the possiblities?
