B23f: how much horsepower? 200 83-84

According to the owner's guide for my 84, 111hp. According to Haynes it's 111hp. And at volvoworld.com, 107hp and 126 lb.-ft. for the '83 and 113hp + 136 lb.-ft. for the '84.

What the....

Why would the motor gain 6 horsepower and 10 lb.-ft. in '84? They are physically identical as far as I can tell.

My '86 B230F seems faster than both...but according to various sources the power output is nearly the same right thru '93.

Who knows.....maybe this is like "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie-pop?" ;-)
