Re: No Start Problem. I may be at the root cause BUT! Distributor (Rotor alignment question) 200 1979

Richard, If the car was running OK and then it just won’t start and the rotor is not lined up correctly. Maybe the timing belt is broke or jumped a few teeth. If the timing belt is OK. Get # 1 cylinder at TDC on it’s compression stroke, now loosen the distributor bolt and turn distributor on till rotor is pointing to the #1 plug wire in the distributor cap, This will be close for the engine to start if all else or OK.
