Still a mystery...Car dies or stumbles when getting on gas... 200 1986

1986 Automatic 245DL, 200,000 miles. Not one but two mechanics cannot figure it out...including a Volvo specialist!! This is a driveability problem, meaning it will die while driving but always starts again. Very inconvenient in traffic though!!

The car is fine other than the fact that it dies occasionally right after a stop when you get back on the gas or whenever you have to let up off the gas and get back on it...even while driving 65mph! It ALWAYS restarts however. Occasionally dies at idle. Idle has been reset, throttle body serviced several times, gas dryer used, fuel pumps checked...what else is there???? Anyone with a similar problem? It ALWAYS occurs when the gas is let up and then given gas again.

Thank you!!!

Melissa
